MADRID, Spain-The leading wireless carrier in Spain, Telefonica Moviles Espana, has enhanced its messaging services using technology from Openwave and 724 Solutions.
The Spanish carrier will use Openwave’s IP Integrated Messaging Infrastructure to deliver next-generation communication and messaging services to its customers. With the equipment, Telefonica Moviles will be able to launch “always on” e-mail, allowing users to receive e-mails on their current mobile devices as they would to their PC and mobilize a variety of e-mail accounts from Internet service providers and enterprises.
The technology also includes high storage capabilities to automatically store any kind of message and content, including multimedia service messaging, short message service, e-mail, voice mails, audio, pictures and videos.
724 Solutions and information technology services firm Atos Origin will provide Telefonica Moviles with a solution that supports all messaging channels, including SMS, WAP and MMS. The technology includes 724 Solutions’ X-treme Alerts Platform, which enables carriers to offer personalized and customized alerts.
