Carriers back Marvel’s ‘Fantastic Four’ marketing effort

BELLEVUE, Wash.-Mforma Group Inc. unveiled the latest offerings under its agreement with Marvel International comics, launching a suite of content based on the feature film “Fantastic Four.”

Carriers will pony up advertising dollars to push “Fantastic Four” content as well. Cingular Wireless is launching its second-largest campaign of the year-behind only the “Star Wars” effort-to support the offerings, and other Tier 1 operators will promote the content aggressively through their WAP decks, Mforma said. Other carriers worldwide will execute their own marketing campaigns.

The branded products from the new Twentieth Century Fox film include ringtones, voice tones and ringbacks, as well as wallpapers and a gaming title. The mobile entertainment publisher said it will back the content with its most extensive marketing effort to date.

“The amount of assets and effort poured into the launch of the ‘Fantastic Four’ mobile products is unheard of,” said Daniel Kranzler, chief executive officer of Mforma. “This is truly a global marketing event.”

Mforma continues to pump out branded content from big-budget Hollywood films under a pact it reached with Marvel last year. The publisher already offers titles based on the Blade Trinity and Elektra brands.
