PLAINFIELD, Ind.-Brightpoint Inc. will act as an authorized distributor of products and services from Skype Technologies S.A., the companies announced. Brightpoint said it initially plans to focus on promoting offerings from the Voice over Internet Protocol provider to its independent agent/dealer channels, mass and specialty retailers, and wireless carriers in the United States, Australia, the Philippines, India and New Zealand. The non-binding agreement is subject to the execution of a definitive binding contract.
