AMSTERDAM-Nokia Corp. released three new high-end phones that fall under the company’s new N-series of devices. Nokia said its N-series gadgets-which will run its Symbian Series 60 operating system-will feature the latest in wireless technologies and features, including integrated megapixel cameras, music players, mobile TV, streaming video and other high-tech offerings.
Nokia’s new N-series devices include:
c The N90, which includes a 2-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and VHS-resolution video capture. It will be available during the second quarter.
c The W-CDMA N91 music phone, which features a 4-gigabyte hard disk, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It will be available by the end of the year.
c And the N70, which also is a W-CDMA device and features a 2-megapixel camera, music player and FM radio. It will be available in the third quarter.
“This next step in digital convergence brings together mobile devices, Internet content, still and video cameras, music, e-mail and much more. Nokia N-series devices share similar design traits as mobile phones, but they are actually powerful pocketable computers with a comprehensive set of multimedia features,” said Anssi Vanjoki, executive vice president of Nokia’s multimedia business. “The Nokia N-series offers the world’s most powerful functionality in the mobile space. As Nokia N-series is based on Series 60, people can choose from thousands of add-on applications to customize their device to best suit their needs.”
