NEW ORLEANS-FiberTower Corp. announced a backhaul service built specifically for wireless carriers.
The company said copper T1 circuits, which the wireless industry has relied on for years to handle backhaul requirements, are not well suited for current wireless networks. FiberTower’s facilities-based solution includes a combination of fiber-optic Sonet rings and digital radio links.
The company said it has deployed its solution with three large U.S. carriers during the past three years.
