FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.-Nextel Communications Inc. said it has expanded its network along major highways in parts of Northwest Michigan, including M-55, Interstate-75 and US 31. The expanded coverage also includes the communities of Manistee, Pleasanton, Interlochen, Long Lake, Traverse City, Mancelona, Chestonia/Alba, Wilmot/Vanderbilt and Ellis.
“Northwest Michigan is growing in population and is a very popular vacation destination for many of our customers throughout the state, so we are very excited to expand our service offerings in this region,” explained Glen Flowers, Nextel’s area vice president for the Midwest.
Nextel added that it currently has business offices in Farmington Hills and Grand Rapids, as well as retail and authorized retail locations throughout the state.
