Asian manufacturers win handset accolades

In addition to its carrier rankings, Consumer Reports also posted consumer rankings for handsets from the major carriers. Those rankings were dominated by Asians manufacturers. LG Electronics’ VX7000 and Kyocera Wireless Corp.’s SE47 posted the highest overall scores on Verizon Wireless’ network. Audiovox’s PM-8920 and Samsung Corp.’s MM-A700 garnered the top spots on Sprint PCS’ network; and LG’s L1200 and G4015 received the highest rankings among GSM carriers Cingular Wireless L.L.C., AT&T Wireless Services Inc. and T-Mobile USA Inc.
