Mark Irwin has been promoted to vice president of finance at contact center services company LiveBridge Inc. Irwin joined LiveBridge in 1999 as corporate controller. He directed the company’s accounting and finance division.

Motorola

Motorola Inc. named Valerie Di Maria corporate vice president of communications and public affairs where she will oversee the company’s executive communications, media relations, industry analyst relations and internal communications. Previously, Di Maria was vice president of corporate public relations and advertising at GE Capital.

Wireless Facilities

Wireless Facilities Inc. said Steven Roth is the company’s new president of its wholly owned subsidiary WFI Government Services Inc. In his new position, Roth will oversee the company’s Government Services division’s operating sectors, including areas of expertise for technical services outsourcing, logistics automation and radio-frequency identification, and homeland security and public-safety applications. Most recently, Roth was senior vice president and general manager of Plateau Systems, an enterprise software systems provider.

Agere

Agere Systems named Dr. Hans-Joachim Dittloff vice president of engineering for its Mobility division. Dittloff will lead the company’s core development activities for GPRS, EDGE, 3G/UMTS and converged Wi-Fi chips and software, product engineering and test initiatives, and Agere’s program management efforts within the Mobility division. Dittloff joins Agere from Infineon Technologies, where he was chief operating officer of the Secure Mobile Solutions Group.

Verizon Wireless

Michael Griffin has been named director of Verizon Wireless’ national Data Technical Support Center where he will be responsible for all aspects of the data customer center including technical support, customer retention and quality service delivery. Griffin also will oversee the continued expansion of the data customer center operations. Most recently, Griffin was vice president of customer service and technical support for Intuit.

Colibria

Mobile instant messaging platform developer Colibria AS appointed Keith Gibson chief executive officer. Gibson’s primary goals will be fine tuning the company’s strategy, expanding the company and capitalizing on its existing technology position. Gibson’s telecommunications experience includes executive-level positions with Fujitsu, Coherent Communications and Comverse Technology.

Airxcel

Airxcel Inc. division Marvair promoted Mike Whitehurst to OEM sales manager. He will be responsible for sales of the company’s wall mount air conditioners and heat pumps for telecommunications shelters and commercial modular buildings in the United States. Whitehurst has been with Marvair for 14 years.
