T-Mobile International names new CMO

BONN, Germany-T-Mobile International said it named consumer-goods marketing executive Ulli Gritzuhn as its new chief marketing officer to replace Nikesh Arora, who left T-Mobile in September “at his own request,” said the European wireless carrier.

In his new position, the 42-year-old is responsible for the marketing activities of the T-Mobile Group with focuses on the consistent further buildup of the brand, product development, market and brand communication, and sponsorships.

Gritzuhn began his career in 1988 at Procter and Gamble, where he occupied several marketing positions in Germany and Sweden. After 12 years he moved to Wrigley GmbH, first as managing director for Germany and Switzerland, before being promoted to regional vice president Western Europe beginning in 2001.

“With Ulli Gritzuhn, T-Mobile is gaining a marketing expert with many years of international experience. He is bringing with him the necessary tools to give the company the impulse required at this extremely important market stage,” said Rene Obermann, chief executive officer of T-Mobile International.
