Nokia to expand Brazilian network

ESPOO, Finland-Brazilian mobile operator TNL PCS (Oi Celular) has selected Nokia to expand its GSM/EDGE network in an $115 million deal.

Nokia will expand and upgrade Oi’s core network by implementing a core network solution, including the first Nokia MSC Server system in the Americas, a content delivery system and Push to talk over Cellular. The expansion will boost capacity of Oi’s radio network in 10 states in the north, northeast and southeast of the country.

Deliveries begin immediately.
