Hong Kong-based PCCW Ltd. launched a wireless broadband network in the United Kingdom’s Thames Valley region using IPWireless technology in the 3.4 GHz band. PCCW’s UK Broadband subsidiary is offering Netvigator high-speed wireless service to residential and business customers in the area west of London starting at $32 a month. IPWireless said the service uses UMTS TDD technology and gives users always-on access to the Internet. Subscribers have an initial choice of a 512 kilobits per second service or a 1 megabit per second service.
