Air2Web acquires Wokup

ATLANTA-Wireless application and technology company Air2Web announced it acquired European wireless software company Wokup SA. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are very excited about the merger with Wokup,” said Sanjoy Malik, Air2Web’s president and chief executive officer. “Air2Web is already providing significant wireless solutions to blue chip companies and carriers in the U.S. and Asia Pacific. By establishing Air2Web Europe, we have taken an important step toward expanding our global reach. Additionally, this acquisition will enable Air2Web to further support and extend our SMS backbone into Europe.”

Through the deal, Air2Web said it will score customers including Credit Lyonnais, Societe Generale and BRED and carrier partnerships with France Telecom, Orange and Telefonica.

Air2Web also has deals with Cingular Wireless, Nextel Communications Inc. and Verizon Wireless as well as with UPS, InterContinental Hotels Group, ABN AMRO, The Weather Channel, Hoover’s and Federal Bank.
