Sprint, Concourse reach Wi-Fi roaming pact

OVERLAND PARK, Kan.-Sprint Corp. reported a roaming agreement with Concourse Communications Group L.L.C. to begin offering Wi-Fi services at several U.S. airports including LaGuardia, Minneapolis-St. Paul International, Detroit Wayne County Metropolitan, JFK and Newark Liberty Airports.

Sprint also announced the deployment of its own Wi-Fi network at the Kansas City International Airport as part of the facility’s $258 million terminal improvement project. The network provides free access to a list of airport information including real-time flight information from the airport’s Web site.

Sprint said it expects to offer Wi-Fi services in more than 2,100 locations by early next year and has already signed roaming agreements with Airpath Wireless, Cometa Networks and Wayport Inc.
