SUNNYVALE, Calif.-FutureDial Inc. introduced Cellphone Service Station, a new mobile phonebook management solution for wireless retailers and enterprise telecom mangers to allow for the transfer, backup, restore or print out of phonebook and contact information.
The application works on more than 140 mobile-phone models from carriers including Sprint PCS, Verizon Wireless, AT&T Wireless, Cingular Wireless, T-Mobile and MetroPCS.
FutureDial believes such a solution will be especially important with the upcoming implementation of wireless local number portability, which will likely require customers to purchase new handsets upon switching carriers. Although the customers will keep their phone numbers, their stored phonebooks and contact information will likely be lost in any carrier switch.
