BEIJING-The Beijing Morning Post reported Huawei Technologies came out on top of a third-generation (3G) vendor test by China’s Ministry of Information Industry (MII), beating Nokia, Ericsson, Siemens and Nortel. The report added that Alcatel, Zhongxing Telecom, Lucent and UTStarcom flunked the test.
The newspaper said it had obtained a secret MII report. But the ministry quickly denied test results had been announced, saying 3G tests are still ongoing.
