DiGi offers new prepaid features

SURABAYA, Indonesia-Malaysia’s DiGi Telecommunications confirmed its commitment to the country’s prepaid segment by offering a suite of features for its DiGi Prepaid Plus service, following its network upgrade to an Intelligent Network (IN) platform.

The new features consist of automatic credit balance information, call waiting, call divert and multi-party conferencing. These features are applicable and available for all existing DiGi Prepaid Plus customers with no registration or monthly or additional fees.

Encik Zalman Aefendy, DiGi’s head of prepaid, said: “These new features are not only innovative and convenient in nature but also a step toward offering our prepaid customers the comfort of seamless mobility. It is our responsibility to offer our customers unprecedented opportunities for them to realize the fullest potential of a prepaid service.”

Furthermore, he predicted prepaid will account for almost two-thirds of the country’s total mobile-phone subscribers by the end of this year. “It is definitely the main driver of growth for the industry, and this is evident even at a global level,” he added.

DiGi’s IN platform from Alcatel also allows the operator to offer advanced applications combining voice, data and Internet services.
