BUCHAREST, Romania-According to Arabian online newspaper itp.net, Kuwaiti mobile operator Wataniya contracted with Siemens for the installation of a General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) network upgrade.
The contract of almost 53 million euro (US$52.4 million) includes an expansion of existing equipment. Siemens ICM Networks Middle East have also install for the Wataniya network an Arabic-language Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) system.
