Nortel to expand GSM network in China’s Hebei province

BEIJING—The Hebei provincial subsidiary of China Mobile has chosen Nortel Networks to expand the capacity of its GSM network in the provincial capital Shijiazhuang and surrounding areas with 322,000 subscribers. The provincial total now adds up to a capacity of 6.8 million subscribers.

Nortel Networks so far has supplied wireless networks to 17 provinces in China.
