WASHINGTON, D.C.—Commerce Secretary Don Evans named Nuala O’Connor Kelly chief counsel for technology for the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Technology Administration.
“The Department of Commerce’s Technology Administration is at the center of the Bush administration’s technology policy-making, and I am thrilled to be working on cutting-edge technology issues as part of a tremendously gifted TA team,” O’Connor Kelly said of her appointment.
O’Connor Kelly, who previously served as deputy director of the office of policy and strategic planning in the Department’s Office of the Secretary, is the first woman to serve as chief counsel for technology. Before joining the Bush administration, O’Connor Kelly was vice president of data protection and chief privacy officer for emerging technologies at DoubleClick.
