Access Spectrum acquires 220 MHz licenses

BETHESDA, Md.—Access Spectrum L.L.C. announced it has made a spectrum acquisition and has added three vice presidents to its management team.

The company said it has signed an agreement with Aerwav Inc. to acquire 220 MHz spectrum licenses, which it said when added to the 700 MHz licenses that cover more than 60 percent of the United States that it already owns will create a national spectrum footprint. According to Access Spectrum, Motorola Inc. and Microwave Data Systems (MDS) have committed to manufacturing and marketing 220 MHz and 700 MHz products for wireless voice and data applications.

In addition, the company has hired John Bruno as vice president of finance; Charles Ellis as vice president of engineering; and John Vislosky as senior vice president of sales.
