Electric Pocket launches e-mail app for Palm OS handhelds

HANOVER, Germany—Electric Pocket announced its Mailer POP3 e-mail application for Palm OS handhelds this week at the CeBIT show in Germany.

“In designing Mailer we took a fresh look at the real needs of mobile email users,” explained Iain Barclay, Electric Pocket’s co-founder and chief product officer. “We wanted to get away from the desktop e-mail model and try some new things, like combining e-mail and voice calls. Mailer is all about communications in a way that makes sense for people on the go, and the reaction from early users has been very favorable.”

Mailer, which retails for $29.95, is available for wireless devices running Palm OS versions 3.5 and 4.0, including the Palm m500 series and Handspring Treo Communicator series.
