RESTON, Va.—Nextel Communications Inc. signed a $234 million, five-year IT outsourcing agreement with EDS to manage Nextel’s corporate data center, database administration, helpdesk, desktop services and other technical functions.
As part of the outsourcing agreement, Nextel said it would transition about 290 employees to EDS.
