KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Sprint PCS announced its Rhode Island customers will soon have access to location-based E911 technology on their handsets.
The customers must have GPS-enabled pones, which Sprint recently began selling, to support the E911 services. Sprint said it now meets the Federal Communications Commission’s E911 Phase II mandate.
