Clothing chain opens m-commerce site on i-mode

TOKYO—Uniqlo, a popular casual clothing store chain in Japan, opened a mobile-commerce site on i-mode. Now i-mode users can purchase among 170 items of Uniqlo’s casual wear shown on the site by settling their purchases with either credit cards, wire transfers or payment on delivery.

The purchased items will be delivered to buyers’ homes within three days.

The Uniqlo brand is owned by Fast Retailing Company. Under the current gloomy economic situation in Japan, Uniqlo’s casual wear is selling well. It has more than 500 stores across Japan and recently opened its first overseas outlet in London.
