KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Sprint PCS introduced the Samsung SPH-I300 smart phone, combining a Palm-OS powered personal digital assistant and wireless handset.
The six ounce device includes a backlit, virtual dialing pad on its touch screen panel with a 256-color display, dual LCD screens with caller identification on the front and top of the handset, voice-activated dialing, built-in speakerphone, short messaging service, e-mail messaging and fax data capabilities.
The $500 device, which is expected to be available by the end of the month, also includes the Handspring Blazer browser, which is compatible with HTML, WML and cHTML Internet sites.
