CHICAGO—Motorola Inc. has cut 2,000 jobs, raising the number of workers separated from their jobs since December to 32,000, amounting to 22 percent of its staff.
The phone maker, which announced earlier in the week that sales would be flat in the third quarter of this year, believes that its cell phone and pager businesses will yield profit by year’s end.
