WAYNESBORO, Virginia, United States—VoiceStream Wireless signed a definitive purchase agreement with Ntelos and Conestoga Enterprises to purchase their GSM network in central Pennsylvania. The deal, valued at US$60 million, will include the PCS licenses and wireless network assets and operations in Reading, State College, Williamsport, Sunbury and Pottsville and approximately 18,000 PCS customers of Conestoga Wireless.
Ntelos and Conestoga, which are in the process of merging, said they made the deal so they could focus on Ntelos’ CDMA network in Virginia, West Virginia and parts of Kentucky and North Carolina.
