Alcatel to expand GSM network in Tibet

PARIS—Alcatel has signed a contract to expand Tibet’s GSM network for Mobile Communications Co. of Tibet, a subsidiary of China Mobile. It targets 280,000 subscribers.
Under the deal, Alcatel will supply a radio base station subsystem, a core network subsystem, a mobile services switching center and home location register.
