Oberthur purchases remaining 50% of Rapsodia

LOS ANGELES, United States—Oberthur Card Systems announced the US$3.3 million acquisition of the remaining 50 percent of Rapsodia Software from French company Prosodie. Rapsodia was set up in May 1999 as a joint venture between the two companies and will now become a fully integrated business division of Oberthur Card Systems.
Rapsodia operates within the wireless industry to provide software platforms for mobile value-added services. The company is headquartered near Paris and has an office in Hong Kong. In 2000, it generated revenues of US$3.2 million.
