LONDON, England-Marconi Plc says it will cut 4,000 jobs and also slash operating profits in half this year.
“What we’ve seen in the last 10 weeks is a very, very significant slowing in Europe,” said chief executive George Simpson. “People have just turned the capital equipment tap off.”
