CALGARY, Alberta-Cell-Loc Inc. announced it has singed a memorandum of understanding with IQ2 Communications Corp., a management and service company that specializes in software development, management, billing and administrative services. The agreement gives IQ2 Communications rights to sell Cell-Loc wireless location services including fleet tracking, and provides Cell-Loc with license fees and an ongoing stream of revenue and royalties. Upon execution of the agreement, IQ2 will owe Cell-Loc approximately $657,253 to secure the rights.

Cell-Loc also announced it signed a memorandum of understanding with Amapri Telecom, a telecommunications system integrator company based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The agreement, which includes a five-year buildout and is valued at more than $60 million, provides Amapri with sole rights to Cellocate Beacon-enabled location-based services in the South American market. Cell-Loc will receive sales revenue, licensing fees and royalty payments from Amapri.

In other news, Cell-Loc released a statement clarifying a previously announced joint trial agreement with Nortel Networks Corp. Cell-Loc said the trial successfully tested the interoperability of Cell-Loc’s Austin Cellocate network and LocationBroker middleware platform with Nortel’s voice navigation system and national directory assistance service. But currently, no working relationship exists between the two companies.
