HELSINKI, Finland-Nokia Corp. remains the leader in handset sales, with Siemens AG nudging Ericsson from its No. 3 position in the first quarter of 2001, according to a survey by research firm Gartner Dataquest.
Nokia’s market share grew from 33.9 percent to 35.3, amounting to three times more than second-place Motorola, which had 13.2 percent. Siemens has 6.9 percent while Ericsson has 6.8 percent.
