KIEV, Ukraine-A third Ukrainian carrier received a GSM 1800 MHz license for $470,000.
The Kyivstar carrier said the GSM 1800 MHz networks are to be developed in major cities, such as Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Odessa and Lvov.
Last October, a GSM 1800 MHz license was issued to Ukrainian Mobile Communications, a major competitor of Kyivstar. UMC launched the first GSM 1800 MHz station in Kiev in February.
GSM 1800 MHz services also are provided by Golden Telecom in the metropolitan area of Kiev and in the Black Sea spa of Odessa.
