MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill.-Illinois Superconductor Corp. and Korea’s KMW Inc. announced plans to jointly develop a cryogenic receiver front-end system for third-generation wideband-CDMA wireless systems, which are scheduled for deployment in Japan and Korea this year.
Illinois Superconductor supplies interference management solutions, and KMW supplies front-end components and subsystems.
In other news, Illinois Superconductor filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to offer its shareholders an additional $20 million. The company’s board of directors will decide on the subscription price and record date, depending on market conditions and SEC clearance of the registration.
