In a trinity aimed to reinvent itself, mobile applications provider Mobilelogic changed its name, hugged a new partner and closed a deal last week.
It now wishes to be called Vaultus, a name chosen to reflect its marriage with Sieglegale, an Internet consulting firm.
Vaultus President and Chief Executive Officer Ronald Spears explains the reason for the name change: “The name `Vaultus’ is a coined word that connotes a combination of strength and motion.”
Vaultus also entered into an agreement with Certicom, a provider of mobile e-business security, to use its integrated security technology to secure wireless communications over a variety of wireless devices.
The deal will allow Vaultus to use Certicom’s Security Builder to encrypt data on the server and de-encrypt it on mobile devices.
“We look forward to combining our mobile applications platform with Certicom’s encryption technology to allow our business customers to securely leverage the power of wireless technology to increase the productivity of their mobile work force,” said Sam Farraj, Vaultus’ vice president for marketing and product development.
The Security Builder is a toolkit that enables developers to “add signatures, key management and encryption into any application” using Java software.
