BARCELONA, Spain-Lucent Technologies Inc. and Dutch wireless operator KPN plan to trial Universal Mobile Telecommunications System specifications along with mobile Internet applications.
The trial will be based on European Telecommunications Standards Institute Release 99, which includes the newest specifications for the UMTS third-generation mobile communications standard.
