ISELIN, N.J.-Datek Online Brokerage Services L.L.C. is using Interactive Messaging PLUS from BellSouth Wireless Data L.P. for its notifications to system engineers who track order-processing servers in New York City and Secaucus, N.J.
The wireless data technology, which was integrated with a network management system from Tivoli Systems Inc., automatically notifies engineers when a server is unavailable or performing improperly. If a problem is identified, the notification is forwarded from the management system via the messaging system to an engineer’s Research In Motion 950 wireless handheld for immediate attention.
