SAN DIEGO-Qualcomm Inc. reported an addition to Sanyo’s existing Code Division Multiple Access subscriber unit license agreement granting Sanyo a license under Qualcomm’s essential CDMA patent portfolio to develop, manufacture and sell subscriber equipment for all modes of the third-generation CDMA standard.
In return for the expansion of the agreement, Sanyo has agreed to pay Qualcomm a multimillion-dollar license fee and ongoing royalties as the company begins selling 3G CDMA equipment.
