CUPERTINO, Calif.-Vyyo Inc. launched its LMDS Lite product, which provides broadband Internet access to small office/home office and residential users.
Local multipoint distribution service traditionally is targeted toward the large-office environment. Vyyo’s LMDS Lite uses a modem that costs less than $300, provides flexible modulation schemes for achieving maximum bandwidth in a particular wireless environment, can support hundreds of users on six-megahertz channels and uses a frequency division duplexing architecture for reduced interference, Vyyo said.
