Lightbridge

Joseph Tibbetts Jr. resigned from Lightbridge Inc. as the company’s chief financial officer in order to pursue an opportunity in venture capital.

U.S. Wireless Data

Charles Leone accepted the posts of chief financial officer and chief operating officer for U.S. Wireless Data Inc. Leone will be responsible for managing all financial and operational aspects of the company’s business. Prior to joining U.S. Wireless, Leone was senior vice president of marketing systems and finance for Phoenix Investment Partners Ltd. and CFO of Zweig/Glaser Advisers.

Loral Space & Communications

Eric Zahler was elected president and chief operating officer of Loral Space & Communications and vice chairman of Globalstar Telecommunications Ltd. Zahler will be responsible for overseeing Loral’s business segments, including Loral Skynet, Loral CyberStar, Space Systems/Loral and Globalstar L.P. Before being elected to his new position, Zahler served as executive vice president, senior vice president, secretary and general counsel as well as serving as vice president of Globalstar.

Metricom

Timothy Dreisbach has been appointed chairman of the board of directors for Metricom Inc., a provider of mobile data networking and technology. Dreisbach will replace Robert Dilworth, who has served on Metricom’s board since 1987 and has been chairman since March 1997. Dilworth will remain on the board.

Aether

Mitch Selbiger was appointed senior vice president of marketing at Aether Systems Inc. Selbiger will manage all corporate marketing activities, including advertising, public relations, events, direct marketing, Web marketing, and partner/channel marketing. Selbiger was vice president of marketing at OTG Software prior to joining Aether.

Datalink.net

Jason Pavona, director of wireless strategy and personalization for the Lycos Network at Datalink.net, has been elected to the company’s board of directors. Datalink.net also announced that Alan Marder is the company’s new vice president of sales. Before going to Datalink.net, Marder was president and chief operating officer of a privately held wireless data communications company.

National Dispatch Center

Graham McMillan was appointed controller of The National Dispatch Center Inc. and will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations including financial reporting, implementing budgetary controls, taxation, and accounts receivable and payable. Prior to joining NDC, McMillan worked for W.G. Best of San Diego, Sorrento Associates Inc. and Solatube International Inc. as controller.

Convergys

Monica Mehan was appointed president of Convergys Corp.’s European operations. Mehan, who was executive vice president of the company’s AT&T Operations, will be responsible for both information management and customer management activities in Europe and will relocate to the company’s European headquarters in London.

Qualcomm

David Bush was promoted to senior vice president of sales for Qualcomm Inc.’s Code Division Multiple Access Technologies unit. Bush will be responsible for worldwide sales of the company’s CDMA chipset and system software solutions and will oversee Qualcomm CDMA Technologies’ application engineering and customer service departments. Bush was vice president of CDMA Technologies and also was responsible for the worldwide applications engineering department. Qualcomm also announced that Johan Lodenius was promoted to senior vice president of marketing and product management for the company’s CDMA Technologies unit. Lodenius will oversee all aspects of marketing, including strategic development, product management and definition, and marketing communications. Lodenius was vice president of marketing and product management prior to his recent promotion.

Certicom

Certicom, a provider of mobile e-business security, announced four appointments. Richard Depew is the company’s new executive vice president of field operations; Richard Brounstein is now senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer; Robert Williams is the new senior vice president of product development; and Tim Dierks is now chief technology officer. Depew will be responsible for developing the business for the company’s entire line of products and services worldwide, as well as forging key strategic relationships. Depew was vice president of worldwide sales and business development. Prior to going to Certicom, Brounstein was CFO of VidaMed Inc. and will replace Bruce MacInnis, who will remain with the company in a senior financial advisory position. Williams was vice president of engineering and acting president of Nexsys-Commtech, a developer of two-way wireless communications technology, before going to Certicom. Dierks will be responsible for making strategic technology decisions for Certicom, and will control the product management functions. Prior to his recent promotion, Dierks was vice president of product development.

LetsTalk.com

LetsTalk.com announced that its co-founder and executive vice president, Brett Beveridge, will be rejoining sister company LetsTalk Cellular and Wireless as president and chief executive officer.

Americom

Doug Moseman has joined Americom Wireless Services as vice president of production and will be responsible for overseeing and directing all production activities at Americom’s handset processing centers. Americom also announced that Jim Polcaro has been promoted to vice president of information systems. Polcaro was director of information systems before his recent promotion.

MultiMedia Telecommunications Association

Fred Yentz, vice president and general manager of the Enterprise Systems Division for RadiSys Corp. has been appointed to serve as chairman of the MultiMedia Telecommunications Association Board of Governors. Yentz succeeds Stanley Blau who will retain an officer’s role as immediate past chairman of the executive committee of the board of governors.

Lodestar Towers

Lodestar Towers Inc. announced its new management team: Paul Scott, formerly vice president of business development, was promoted to vice president and general manager; Michael Hussey was promoted to director of finance and administration; Eric Boundurant is the company’s new director of network development; Jill Behuniak is the new national sales and marketing manager; and Jay Amboirzy, formerly with Crown Castle, is the new Midwest regional sales manager.
