TELULAR, AERIS OFFER ALARM SYSTEM

VERNON HILLS, Ill.-Telular Corp. and Aeris Communications Inc. introduced the Telguard DataBurst, a wireless alarm signaling system manufactured by Telular that uses MicroBurst, a small packet data messaging service provided by Aeris.

MicroBurst technology uses the control channel of existing cellular networks. Alarm messages burst from the host alarm system through the Telguard DataBurst unit at the protected location, through the local cellular network and then on to the Aeris hub located in San Jose, Calif.

Alarm data then is routed through the hub and sent to Telular’s communications center where it is dialed out to the appropriate alarm monitoring dispatch center. The entire transmission takes only a few seconds, said the companies.
