HOME SHOPPING ADDS PREPAID LINE

WETHERSFIELD, Conn.-Shared Technologies Cellular Inc. and the Home Shopping Network announced the intent to offer HSN members a branded prepaid cellular phone program, set to launch on or about May 21.

HSN members will be able to purchase Philips’ Isis handsets and initial and ongoing airtime via HSN’s toll-free number. Cellular coverage will be provided through STC’s national carrier network and STC said it also will provide customer service support.

“STC considers prepaid cellular the next major consumer electronics product,” said Sean Hayes, STC executive vice president. “HSN’s nationwide reach and our national cellular footprint should combine to make prepaid cellular and its advantages known to a very large audience.”
