SEA LAUNCH TESTS LAUNCH PLATFORM IN PACIFIC OCEAN

MOSCOW-the Itar-Tass news agency reported the Sea Launch project, which proposes to launch
satellites from a floating platform in the ocean, has begun testing the launch platform. The trial run is taking place 97
kilometers southwest of Long Beach, Calif., the news bureau reported.

Tests include loading a rocket from the
transport ship to the launch platform hanger through hoisting the rocket into launch position. This is the second stage of
testing for the project and the first stage to take place at sea.

Should testing prove successful, demonstration
launches will begin in March and commercial service is expected to start this year.
