Teklogix
Teklogix introduced the Teklogix 9150 Wireless Gateway, which features dual
Personal Computer Memory Card International Association radio card slots that help it support mixed radio
configurations. The 9150 allows users the flexibility to install a wireless backbone using open system access point
architectures or the company’s optimized communications backbone. It can be configured and used as an access point
by installing an IEEE-compliant 802.11, 2.4 GHz spread spectrum direct sequence or frequency hopping radio. The
gateway also provides connectivity to the latest open system protocols via Token Ring or Ethernet local area networks.

Hewlett Packard Co.
Hewlett Packard Co. introduced the HP 8935 Series E6382A Global
System for Mobile communication base station test set for GSM 900 and Digital Cellular System 1800 networks. The
test set is fully year-2000 compliant and offers frequency coverage from 0.4 MHz to 1 GHz and from 1.7 GHz to 2
GHz. It has a spectrum analyzer and base-station-manufacturer-specific software, which is loaded from a PC card. This
software automatically configures the test set and provides graphical information about the radio frequency and Abis
connections. Maintenance technicians can use the test set for out-of-service functional and parametric tests, and they
can perform RF measurements in-service, while the base station is live. HP said pricing for the HP 8935 Series E6382A

Panasonic
Panasonic’s newly
formed industrial alkaline and specialty products group introduced a new industrial alkaline battery for pagers that the
company said were proven to last 48 percent longer than the competitors’ in the category of portable devices. The AA
and AAA batteries in this product line specifically were designed for mobile telecommunications products. The new
alkaline batteries are part of a complete industrial product line-up that includes sealed lead acid and carbon zinc

Electric Fuel Corp.
Electric Fuel Corp. developed a new,
ultra-capacity, disposable zinc-air battery for cellular phone power users. The company will market a 2,900 mAh
standard battery and an ultra-capacity 4,500 mAh. Both versions will fit many major cellular phone models. The
enhanced version uses a new cell design, derived from the company’s standard size zinc-air cell that in testing, shows a
55-percent capacity increase with a less than 20-percent increase in volume and weight. (972) 589-0890.

Celfone Paging Services Inc. introduced several new pager models including its numeric display
pager and the Epage G590. The numeric display pager features, among other things, a 20-message memory slot with a
9-message lock, travel alarm, four user-selectable alert tones and low-battery indicator. The Epage G590, an
alphanumeric pager, features Latin/Portuguese, English/Spanish and Chinese languages. It also has 20 musical tone

LGC Wireless
Inc.
LGC Wireless Inc. introduced the LGC Alarm Report Monitor for its distributed antenna system, which is used
to provide in-building delivery of cellular and personal communications service system signals. ARM consists of
remote units attached to LGCell main hubs and a single ARM network operations center station. The NOC station
interacts with the remote units to monitor and report any problems with LGCell distributed antenna systems. One NOC
station can monitor up to 255 remote units, and in turn, one unit can monitor up to eight collocated LGCell systems.

Andrew Wireless Products introduced the Portable Hands Free Kit for the Nokia 6120, 6160 and
6162 cellular phones as part of the Voyager Hands Free Series. The kit offers a highly sensitive, multi-directional

Motorola
Motorola Inc. introduced the 1225 LS Radio Series. These two-way radios
are available as portables with and without keypads and mobile radios. They operate ultra high frequency LTR trunking
and UHF conventional frequency solutions, and can quickly transition users from UHF conventional operation to
trunking UHF bands, which provide fast channel access and privacy. The 1225 LS Radio Series also offers clear audio
with X-Pand, Motorola’s sound compression technology. The radios are capable of operating on both 25 kHz and 12.5
