Matrix Systems introduced the Model 7000 Series Coaxial Relay Modules, designed to maintain coaxial switching continuity over a wide range of critical and severe environments and applications. The relay modules feature two to 24 throws, and offer DC up to 800 MHz depending on the number of throws. The Model 7000 Series modules are used in radio-frequency signal switching applications and are available with built-in amplifiers. The relay housings are constructed of machined aluminum alloy and all the signal paths are silver plated. (818) 222-2301.

RF Connectors

RF Connectors, a division of RF Industries, introduced a new SMA male crimp plug featuring Teflon insulation, gold contact and nickel-plated body. The RSA-3000-C connector can be used with the following coaxial cables: RG-58, -141 and -400/U; Belden 8219, 8240, 8259, 8262, 9201, 9203, 9301 and 9311; Comm/Scope 0268; Cushcraft Ultralink TL92463 and TL92887; Intercomp 4585A; and Times Microwave LMR-195. (800) 233-1728.

Huber+Suhner

Huber+Suhner released a PCS 1900 Antennas catalog covering antennas for both indoor and outdoor environments. This latest catalog features antennas with the smallest mechanical profile available without compromising performance. The product family features: polarization diversity, electrical and mechanical downtilt, peak gain up the 18.5 dBi, horizontal and vertical beamwidth, repeatable Voltage Standing Wave Ratio as well as radiation and pattern performance. Actual radiation patterns are shown for each antenna model. (802) 878-0555.

Motorola

Motorola Inc. Aftermarket Products introduced Mag One, a new line of antennas for non-Motorola portable two-way radios, encompassing 12 radio manufacturers and representing 130 models. Mag One antennas feature helical and whip types in standard and stubby sizes and cover operating frequencies from 130 to 901 MHz. (800) 422-4210.

Cushcraft

Cushcraft Corp. introduced a personal communications services/digital cellular system dual-linear polarized patch antenna, the S1857HVP12NF, which provides reception and transmission of linearly polarized signals in the 1850 to 1990 and 1710 to 1880 MHz frequency bands. The antenna consists of a broadband patch, which provides a minimum of 7 dBi gain and has one feed for horizontal and one for vertical polarization. The S1857HVP12NF has a Voltage Standing Wave Ratio of 1: 5: 1 maximum on 50 ohms impedance. Standard models are white with a textured finish. Custom models are available with radome finish and color and texture finishes to blend in with the environment. (603) 627-7877.

FWT

FWT Inc. has introduced the PineCell, a wireless telephone antenna disguised as a pine tree. The pine needles are spun to simulate the natural botanical shape while hiding the antennas and antenna mounts. The trunk of the PineCell can be painted the color of bark or be coated with polyurethane bark cladding. PineCell comes in light, medium or heavy foliage density, and the signal transparent needles have been wind tunnel tested at 110 mph with no sign of wear or deformation. PineCell can be used in a variety of environments and is virtually undetectable from its natural counterparts, FWT said. (800) 433-1816.

Mobile Security Communications

Mobile Security Communications introduced CarCop Remote Response, a personal protection and emergency response system using global positioning system technology to provide a 24-hour link to ADT Security Services. With a four-button wireless transmitter that can be placed on a keychain, drivers can interact with an ADT operator through two-way, hands-free communication to request roadside service and get directions when lost. CarCop also allows vehicle owners to track unauthorized use of their vehicle by valets or service technicians and remotely unlock their vehicle. The CarCop system has a suggested retail price less than $500. (888) 222-6721.

Mobile Systems International

Mobile Systems International introduced Cityscapes, a new network design planning product for metropolitan areas. The latest addition to MSI’s Geodata line of products and services, Cityscapes enables timely analysis and prediction from high resolution data derived from multispectral satellite imagery and digital elevation models. MSI’s multilayer datasets combine clutter, terrain, vectors and demographic data for full integration into network planning systems. (972) 644-6886.

Johnson Controls & HIGHWAY MASTER

Johnson Controls’ Automotive Systems Group announced its AutoLink communications technology will be used to create rear-view mirrors that can summon roadside assistance, get directions and receive messages. The AutoLink-enhanced mirrors will link drivers to a nationwide enhanced cellular network owned by Dallas-based HighwayMaster Corp., which helped create the technology. The network provides such services as roadside help, emergency response, global positioning system navigation support, theft notification, vehicle diagnostics, remote unlocking, Internet access, interactive messaging and information services. The mirrors will be available as an after-market product at retail cellular stores next September, the company said.

Hewlett-Packard

Hewlett-Packard Co. announced a software revision for manufacturers of the HP 84000 radio-frequency integrated circuit. Software revision A.01.50 offers an average throughput improvement of 5 percent on a typical RFIC test plan, said HP. Some users may see improvements of up to 25 percent. The HP 84000 also has moved to a new DC subsystem that reduces DC measurement times, added HP. A DC upgrade kit will be available for current users of the product. The software revision provides a test-plan debugger that enables test engineers to determine errors quickly, said HP. (800) 452-4844 ext. 5731.
