GREENSBORO, N.C.-Vanguard Cellular Systems Inc.’s board of directors approved the expansion of its stock repurchase program to allow the repurchase of up to 2.5 million shares of the company’s common stock.
The company already has repurchased 2.5 million shares under the initial stock repurchase program and has about 39.2 million shares outstanding. The purchases may be made at management’s discretion in the open market or in private transactions funded by the company’s corporate funds.
