LINCOLN, Neb.-Transcrypt International Inc. announced Rensselaer County in New York awarded its E.F. Johnson subsidiary a $5.6 million contract to provide a radio communication system for fire fighting agencies and other government users.
The system is equipped to handle the communication traffic of nearly 900 subscriber radios including more than 400 mobiles and 400 portables. The system’s control center will consist of nine touch-screen dispatch consoles, a network switch, system and network management computers and patches to Rensselaer County’s existing conventional radio channels, said Transcrypt.
