JTECH ACQUIRES SERVICEALERT INC.

BOCA RATON, Fla.-JTECH Inc., which manufactures on-premise paging systems for restaurants and other industries, said it acquired ServiceAlert Inc., a competing firm based in Colorado.

ServiceAlert also manufactures paging systems for the restaurant industry and has begun expanding into the retail, health care and manufacturing markets.

JTECH said the acquisition gives it a more complete line of on-premise communication equipment. It also allows the company to accelerate its research and development, expedite delivery and support systems and more aggressively penetrate new markets, said JTECH.

The company said it controls more than 95 percent of the restaurant pager market. Total sales for the company exceeded $16 million in 1996.
