UPI PLATFORM GETS DIRECTORY SERVICES

REDMOND, Wash.-InfoSpace Inc. announced it will make its directory services available via Unwired Planet Inc.’s wireless Internet access software platform.

InfoSpace said it developed a patent-pending technology to fully integrate white pages, yellow pages, maps and e-mail directories into one comprehensive solution.

Unwired Planet’s software enables cellular phone and two-way pager users to access information and services on the Internet and private corporate intranets, the company said.

“The availability of useful information from the Internet or your corporate intranet is critical to the next generation of wireless devices,” said Alain Rossmann, chairman and chief executive officer of Unwired Planet.

InfoSpace directories contain more than 112 million U.S. and Canadian listings of people, government offices and businesses including their fax and toll-free numbers, the company said.
