American Technologies Inc. announced the availability of the MicroTracker remote tracking module, a vehicle location system that combines a global positioning system receiver, radio transceiver and radio frequency modem in one unit. ATI said the module can be easily installed in trailers, cars, boats, trains and intermodel containers. The device allows vehicles to be located instantly, and when combined with ATI’s Logitrack software, the MicroTracker provides customers with real-time tracking, said ATI. (414) 922-7030.

E.F. Johnson Co.’s Telemetry Division announced an RNet compatible modem that allows data communications between high-spec E.F. Johnson telemetry products and other RNet radio/modems. The DL-3276 modem offers user-programmable data rates of 9600, 2400 and 1200 bps in a single unit, said E.F. Johnson. The modem’s enhanced feature set provides front panel LEDs (light emitting diodes), easy-to-use setup software, a built-in radio diagnostic package and programming identification for local and over-the-air diagnostic reporting, said the company. Inet Inc. introduced a Cellular Digital Packet Data modem that completely fits into a PCMCIA (Personal Computer Memory Card International Association) Type III slot of a laptop personal computer. The Spider CDPD modem, which has been fully approved for use in Bell Atlantic Nynex Mobile’s network, is compatible with any TCP/IP application that supports a serial line interface protocol connection, said the company. Inet said the modem is able to deliver maximum signal strength without draining the laptop’s battery or requiring an external power supply. Dynatech Tactical Communications Inc. has released a 16-page catalog describing its family of two-way radio accessories. The catalog includes photos and data on the company’s security kits, wireless earphones, transductors, microphones and other products, said Dynatech. The company said its products, which are used by many U.S. law enforcement and international agencies, feature overmolded connectors for maximum durability and reliability.
